SEASON 4 : SPRING 2024 CHAMPIONS

Division A Champions

A team from the streets, with many misdemeanors piled up against their names, overcame it all to win a highly skilled Division A in Season 4 of DCRL. Amidst a division filled with titans, a newcomer named GarrettP burst onto the scene. With him at the helm, he and his teammates—longtime community member and player GreekAvenger, and reigning Division B Champion Torps—completed the run and defeated Triumvirate in an intense bracket reset series. It wasn’t an easy road; it took great teamwork, incredible clips, and amazing mental fortitude to come out on top. Ultimately, this championship win brought great closure for GreekAvenger as he took home the MVP trophy and walked off into the retirement sunset. There isn’t a better way to end a career, that’s for sure.

Division B Champions

Division B was WILD in Season 4 of DCRL. Even though a few teams sat at the top of the seeding for most of the regular season, the other teams had other ideas when it came time for playoffs. After both the #1 and #2 seeds failed to make LAN, the Division B title was anyone's for the taking. The Postmen team, consisting of Swamp Donkey, iBexshank, and Fightinghamster, DELIVERED in the form of a championship as they made their way through the losers' bracket on LAN, completing a bracket reset run to take the trophy home. It was a culmination of the patented ground plays from captain Swamp Donkey, the high-level experience from former Division A player iBexshank, and the LAN buff that Fightinghamster received that really set these guys apart from the rest of the pack. The mail was delivered just in time for these players as they wrote their names in DCRL history.

Absolutely NO ONE was sleeping on the Sleepers in Season 4 of DCRL. This Division C lineup was TIGHT, and that's not an exaggeration. Throughout most of the regular season, only a 20% winning percentage separated the #1 seed from the #10 seed—this was an unprecedented level of competition we had never before seen in DCRL. All the while, it was the Sleepers who sat in the #1 seed throne for most of the regular season. In a team consisting of Complexmarxman, Tyler8G, and newcomer Spoopymen, they fought through the insanity that was Division C to snag all three's first DCRL title. Spoopymen was turning heads as the "steal of the Division C draft" all season long, Complex showed his insane playmaking ability time and time again, and Tyler8G, as the rock in the back, delivered the FIRST 8-0 series sweep, completing the bracket reset in the most dominating fashion possible.

This Goons team, consisting of captain MTX_Slicer, xLS, and Freak, did what many thought was impossible and raised the Division D trophy in EACH of their rookie years in DCRL. MTX_Slicer brought the energy, often seen with his shirt off and screaming on the player cams, while xLS and Freak supported him by both having their own pop-off moments throughout much of the regular season. Division D showed us one of the most dominant performances from a team we've ever seen in DCRL in "Version 2," who went 8-0 in the regular season and looked absolutely unstoppable. However, it was this Goons team that did what many thought was impossible and took Version 2 down after avoiding the bracket reset and ultimately earned their inscription on the DCRL Champions plaque.

SEASON 3 : FALL 2023 CHAMPIONS

Division A Champions

After a very rough 0-3 start to the season, Rank Disparity was able to adapt and overcome to rise as the champions of Division A. This team, consisting of Remsic, shavin, and whirl, was predicted during the pre-season to be one of the best, and they were able to live up to these expectations in whirl’s last eligible season, despite the rank disparity between SSL Remsic and Champ 1 whirl (hence the team name). It’s always electric having shavin compete on LAN; if you know, you know.

Sideflip Tactics did a lot more than just side-flipping in the third season of DCRL. Led by Torps and supported by Weevil and Program, this team was one of the juggernauts of Division B. By no means was it easy, though, as Division B seemed to be the most competitive division DCRL had seen to date. Torps had a standout season in his first year in DCRL and earned an MVP award after taking the championship home. Weevil and Program showed fantastic improvements throughout the season and were a big part of this team’s success.

Fatherless had the closest thing to a new father in their captain OmegaBlaze33. This Fatherless team consisting of OmegaBlaze33, Nemo, and Happy made great strides throughout the regular season as one of the teams-to-beat in a highly competitive Division C lineup. OmegaBlaze33 led his team to a Division C championship while shouldering an MVP award in the process. JDBauerPower was a sub for Happy on LAN, and performed well enough to bring this team to a well- deserved Division C championship.

Plague, the team that dominated all of Division D the entire season as one of the strongest #1 seeds DCRL has ever seen, stomped every team in the regular season. The team, consisting of Greenguy, Photonut, and TheRealRobo, decided to take the content run through the lower bracket and complete the only bracket reset this season. With a huge showing from the teleporting MVP, Photonut, they became the first Division D champion. Oh, and apparently, Photonut and MotainDewFridge are roommates?!

Rush Hour, the undoubted #1 seed in Division A, walked through the regular season, dropping only one series. Made up of Remsic, OvertimeJesus, and BlaskyRL, they were absolutely unstoppable and continued their dominance through the playoffs as well. This team, led by MVP Remsic, consistently showed why he earned the award this season. So dominant were they that they did not even lose a game at LAN and finished perfect.

One-Hit Wonders, the Division B Cinderella story, made an unexpected impact in the playoffs. Led by Katsa, MegaDragon, and TwoDoodles, the team fell to the lower bracket immediately but refused to be deterred. They made an incredible run, completing the bracket reset against the #1 seed in a total of 13 games and finally winning in game 7 of the second series. They became the lowest seed to win, finishing at #7.

Josh’s Peck, with its nostalgic logo, the Drake and Josh theme song, and the return of MerkyTrout in the Grand Finals from last semester, quickly became a fan favorite. JoshPeckIn, MerkyTrout, and Steve led this team to become the first non-#1 seed to win the championship. The two DCRL veterans made their impacts throughout the season, but if it were not for rookie Steve becoming the team’s solid third man, this team might have fallen short.

Rolling through the top division of DCRL in dominating fashion, the team of Stewy, Sqwhat, and Paintedharp went unbeaten in the regular season, securing the #1 seed going into the playoffs. Some may have suggested it was a Mickey season, but they proved everyone wrong by rolling through the upper bracket and taking the finals in commanding style.

The Division B Goliath, Rat Pack, started and ended their season by completing the only two reverse sweeps of the season in DCRL. The team of Alyz, Jaydon, and Criplify convincingly secured the #1 seed. Even when a sub, Shavin, had to step in for Alyz, the two rocks of the team, Jaydon and Criplify, took charge and stepped up when their team needed them most, leading them to the championship title.
